Run With The Race Directors - Saturday

Each year at 7:00 AM on the Saturday before the race, we hold the Run With the Race Directors on the Half Marathon course. The run is for volunteers, friends and sponsors who are unable to race on Sunday. This is a no cost, no frills, no aid (bring your own water), non-timed fun run. Please email the race directors if you want to participate. We run the entire course, stopping to scrape dead animals off of the side of the road, marking the splits, and enjoying the company of each other prior to the race craziness.

Packet Pickup

Packets are available for pickup on Saturday, July 19 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Packet pickup has been moved this year from the grange to Norma Pfeiffer Park in downtown Coburg. This is the park located at E. McKenzie and Locust St and the location of our race start and finish.

Race Day Schedule

Half Marathon Non-Competitive Walk

6:00 am start on N. Willamette Street/E. McKenzie intersection next to Coburg's Pavilion Park. The walk is “non-competitive” because we do not enforce race-walking rules. All walkers will be accurately timed and eligible for finisher awards.

Half Marathon Run

7:00 am start at the same location as the Half Marathon Walk. Early start for 13:00 per mile pace or slower at 6:00 AM.

Kids Fun Run

9:45 am start on N. Harrison/E. McKenzie intersection. This non-timed event makes a 400 meter loop around Norma Pfeiffer Park where the kids cross the main finish line and receive a special award. Registration required, but it's FREE!

Post-Race Awards Ceremony

Approximately 9:55 am in Coburg's Norma Pfeiffer Park, near the finish line.

Awards

Half Marathon Run Male and Female Age Group and Overall awards will be given. No Half Marathon Walk awards will be given since it will not be officiated.

Reminders

Insurance restrictions require us to exclude any wheeled devices (except for racing wheelchairs) from the course. Dogs and baby strollers not allowed. Roads will remain open to traffic and our County permit requires that we run in the direction of traffic (not against it). We believe runners are safest when they are alert to their surroundings; we therefore discourage the use of I Pods, MP3 players or other music sources during the race.
